Nia Impact Capital Welcomes Andrea Dalton as Portfolio Manager

OAKLAND, CA - Nia Impact Capital is pleased to announce that Andrea Dalton, CFA, has joined the Nia team as a senior portfolio manager. Dalton serves with Nia founder Kristin Hull as co-manager of the Nia Global Solutions portfolio and the Nia Growth and Dividend strategy, and will lead research efforts on NIAGX, the firm’s recently launched mutual fund.

An experienced and talented leader in ESG investing, Dalton has been incorporating a gender and social justice lens into her practice for decades. “Andrea’s deep expertise, dedication and commitment to this work are a tremendous complement to our efforts at Nia,“ said Hull. “We are thrilled to have attracted such top talent to our team.”

Prior to Nia, Dalton managed her own long-only strategy at Revelio. She was a longtime portfolio manager at Friess Associates, the Brandywine Funds, following earlier roles at Palisade Capital, Cathay Financial and Gabelli & Company.

“Incorporating sustainability, gender, social and environmental justice into traditional fundamental investing is not merely a good practice, it is an increasingly essential element of successful investing,” said Dalton. “Nia Impact Capital has been doing this hard work for years, paired with engagement and activism, creating a successful track record of impact. I am excited to put my energy into supporting the important work being done here.”

Active in local CFA societies, Dalton served as advocacy chair on the Board of CFA Society Stamford. In that role she regularly orchestrated events to promote women in finance, sustainable investing and other material topics for CFA members and the local community.  She began work at Nia Impact Capital in March and is based in Seattle, Washington.

Under certain economic conditions, this could cause the Fund’s investment performance to be worse than similar funds that do not incorporate such considerations in their investment strategies or processes. In applying ESG criteria to its investment decisions, the Fund may forgo higher-yielding investments that it would invest in absent the application of its ESG investing criteria.
