Nia works to eliminate concealment clauses as their use has been associated with covering up both sexual harassment and racial discrimination. Nia is in favor of more transparent and inclusive company culture. At Nia, we understand that a healthy workplace culture contributes to positive performance and long-term success.
Concealment clauses are defined as any employment or post-employment agreement, such as arbitration, non-disclosure or non-disparagement agreements, that employees or contractors are asked to sign which would limit their ability to discuss unlawful acts in the workplace, including harassment and discrimination. These clauses may limit employees’ remedies for wrongdoing, reduce employee willingness to report discrimination[1], and prevent employees from learning about shared concerns.
